The Challenge

The client was the Cash Equities division of a tier-one bank. Our consultant was brought in to lead the analytics side of a Customer Relationship Management data project. The bank’s existing MI team were working separately from the main system development team and producing below expectations.

How Calibrate Helped

Operating as a permanent employee, he overcame internal resistance to make sure he worked with the teams he needed work with. After determining that the existing dashboard could never deliver what the business really needed, he didn’t waste any more time and wrote a brand new, fully-flexible data discovery platform in QlikView from the ground up.

Results

A dozen existing Business Objects reports were retired and replaced by a single QlikView dashboard. It gave the business everything they wanted – optimum access to CRM data and a lot more they didn’t realise they could have. Very soon, global managers, desk heads, directors and traders were using it. Previous consultants had designed a dashboard that changed little; it reinforced the status quo. That’s not how we work.
